Everything started with him: the story of Dragoljub Galić

A childhood with almost nothing

Dragoljub Galić was born in Mrkonjić Grad on 26 April 1936. He lost both parents while he was still a child and grew up without the safety or support most people take for granted. For a time, a single cow was what stood between him and going hungry. It was the kind of childhood that breaks people. It did not break him. If anything, it set the standard he would hold for the rest of his life: do the work, do it properly, and waste nothing.

A craft, learned by hand

In 1956 he took up carpentry. He began at home, working locally, then went to Germany, where he stayed for more than twenty years. There he became a master of his trade, known among those he worked alongside for three things above all: precision, discipline, and dedication. He was the kind of craftsman others measured themselves against.

Home, and the work that never stopped

When he retired, he returned to the town he was born in. He kept working anyway, quietly, modestly, with the same dignity that had carried him through everything before. Work was never something he did for a wage; it was simply who he was.

The foundation

Everything we make started with him. Not as a legend (he'd have had no patience for that), but as a foundation: the quiet strength of a family and a craft, passed from his hands to the next generation, and the one after. Dragoljub Galić died in 2023. His work remains, and his name remains in everything we create. We are, and always will be, grateful for it.
